CREDITS

Known in the 90's hip hop world as Mr. Man, Khaliyl was a seminal influence in the Gold School era in Hip Hop. Affiliated with the Native Tongue family as well as a product of the explosion of Flatbush Caribbean hip hop culture along with Lee Major (Baby Faced Kaos) and Light (fka Y-Tee), the Bush Babees changed the face of hip hop. Coached by Salaam Remi, Ali Shaheed Muhammad (of ATCQ), Pos (of De La Soul), Mark Batson, J Prince, Jermaine Dupri (of SoSoDef) and Nikki Nicole and with peers like Hieroglyphics, Bootcamp Click, Da Brat, Snoop, and of course Biggie and Tupac these dudes had big shoes to fill. During this time, they recorded two lp's under the Reprise and Warner Brothers record labels respectively. The first offering being "Ambushed" and the second being "Gravity" (which actually introduced Mos Def into public awareness and also included the producers, Shawn J. Period, Q-Tip, Pos, Ali Shaheed and actually introduced 'Mr. Khaliyl' as a producer) showed that the Bush Babees were serious about their craft. All in all, with the realization that the whole '3rd world' (and Flatbush) was on their backs, dudes had to come correct...so they did. Any questons?
