Producer, Michael 'Mike Maven' Francis credits Mobile, Alabama of being his home town and credits the city of having endless hip hop potential, lacking the interest of major record companies. Due mainly to the perception that Alabama doesn’t have a thriving hip hop community. These negatives were some of the fuels that Mike Maven (Michael Francis) used to power his ambition. His parents being natives of New Orleans were very distinct about the path they wanted him to follow. Being almost forced to take piano lessons music became a big part of his life. This also influenced his decision to attempt music production. He claims that the situation of hip hop in Alabama is what lead him to other musical avenues besides rapping. Later in his developmental years, Michael met Grammy nominated producer Poli Paul, and was offered a position as a writer/understudy in Los Angeles which he began his professional writing and production career. His works were usually held in comparison to, Poli’s previous songwriter, Ne-yo. Relocating to Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mike Maven discovered and developed Def Jam Artist Baby E, creating a sound so sonically genius, it landed Baby E deals with Dr. Luke as well as Def Jam, tunneling Mike further into the era to which he has so diligently worked towards. As Mike Maven has mastered his craft , he is continuously learning and have gained credentials and placements with artist such as Chris Brown, Future, Kevin Gates, Migos, Meek Mill, Kid Ink, French Montana, Wale, Neyo, Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, Rick Ross, Juvenile, YG, Problem, Baby E and more.
